My story...

Growing up in Minnesota, I was strongly influenced by my family's love of camping, road trips, museums and dance. Childhood experiences like these, developed in me, an appreciation for art and my natural surroundings. Following my passion, I fulfilled a childhood dream and attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design where I earned my BFA in Illustration/Design. Since graduating I've worked as a professional artist and teacher.  My medium of choice is watercolor, although for large scale public works I use acrylic and latex paints.

I'm inspired by a deeply felt personal connection and appreciation for local culture and our shared community. I've been teaching art for the past nine years and have served on the board of a local arts organization as Education Committee Chair. Recently I started my own arts education business named Artfulu. Through my paintings and my teaching, I strive to bring art into our daily lives.
